In fact, SPF insulations are so effective, they can even exceed the performance of traditional insulation products. And because the product is spray applied, it completely covers all gaps and voids in the wall cavity. This also makes it ideal for hard-to-insulate areas such as cantilevered floors over non-conditioned spaces, knee walls and over garages.
JM offers two basic types of SPF insulation, open-cell and closed-cell. Open-cell SPF insulation is a flexible, sponge-like material comprised of millions of tiny cells that trap air to retain conditioned air. Open-cell SPF provides excellent air-barrier performance, but does not create a water-vapor barrier. Denser, closed-cell SPF features smaller, more compact cell structures to combine superior thermal performance with air sealing and vapor-barrier performance. Due to its rigid nature, closed-cell SPF can increase the racking strength of walls by as much as 300 percent, according to the National Association of Home Builders Research Center.

Our most powerful SPF insulation, JM Corbond III SPF offers a maximum lift thickness of 3 inches per pass, providing an R-value of 21 at 3 inches and R-42 at 6 inches. It can be installed alone or combined with JM Formaldehyde-free™ fiber glass insulation as part of a hybrid system.
